A week’s tutored art experience in Bardi. Enjoy the creative inspiration of working in a new environment.
The course will be a mixture of working ‘en plein air’ through short trips to inspiring location and in studio to give you time and space to develop your ideas.
Day 1: Saturday 23 May
plan to arrive Saturday morning in Bolongna – time dependent on flight availabilty. Mini bus to pick us up at designated time.
Arrive at Cassa Bezzia guest house: Introduction to studio, the lodge & area.
Evening arrival meal: Prosecco & Lasagne supper.
Day 2: Sunday morning 24 May
9.30 mini bus takes students to Go ‘Il Groppo’ close up view of the castle in Bardi for the morning.
Sunday afternoon – Lunch at La Colomba.
2.30-4.30 -After lunch continue view of Castle but from across the river.
6.30 evening meal back at Cassa Bezzini.
Day 3: Monday 25 May
20 pick up at 8.30 Pianilette (lunch box supplied).
6.30 lunch back at the Cass Bezzia.
Supper will be back at the guest house.
Day 4: Tuesday 26 May
20 pick up around 9.30 – Culture day to Parma. Arrive at 10.30 – drawing in the central square.
Lunch to be agreed.
Visit home of Maria Luigia E Napoleone, Museo Glauco Lombardi (optional entrance is at Students expense).
4.15 Mini bus to pick us up.
4.30-5.30- Wine tasting in Monte delle Vigne, just outside Parma.
6.30 Dinner at Cassa Bezzia.
Day 5: Wednesday 27 May
Mini bus to pick us up at 9.30 Trip to the River.
Lunch in a local Trattoria.
Pick up at 2.30.
Use of studio, to review and look at images. Personal development.
6.30: Cooking demonstration, English speaking Italian Lisa. Hand made (pasta & desert) which becomes dinner.
Day 6: Thursday 28 May
Mini bus coming at 9.00 for Market Day in Bardi. Opportunity to draw people at the market and pick up local produce to bring home.
1.00- 2.30 Lunch in Pellicano Trattoria in Bardi.
Afternoon in studio – looking at wild flowers or market flowers.
Dinner on return and packing.
Day 7: Friday 29 May
Mini bus pick up. Bags in the bus – visit to artisan Parmesan cheese maker. No obligation to buy but it does come vacuum packed.
Sketch book Drawings of cows, cats etc plus opportunity to purchase the most delicious parmesan cheese.
Leave for airport. Time to be agreed as dependant on flights available.
